(The Hosting News) – A significant data center expansion recently undertaken by cloud host ScaleMatrix has made the company one of the largest data center providers in the San Diego, California area.

The move brings the company’s data center presence to total 96 thousand square feet. The new property was acquired by the company within ScaleMatrix’s current campus located at Kearny Mesa.

Discussing the matter in a press release, ScaleMatrix Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Chris Orlando called the location’s selection “strategic in nature,” particularly referencing the site’s “considerable room for expansion and access to ample power resources.”

The data center provider previously launched its Green Giant Data Center in the same area last year, providing colocation services to companies in industries such as healthcare, gaming and finance.

Included among ScaleMatrix’s services are hybrid cloud solutions, cloud storage, SaaS, IT service portability and more. Aside from having a presence in the San Diego, California area, the company also operates a data center in Katy, Texas. Linking the facilities provides for a 10GB private transport ring.

The news follows an announcement earlier this month in which the company revealed a new partnership with CA Technologies. The move allows ScaleMatrix to resell the company’s data protection solutions known as CA ARCserve.
