(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Cloud hosting company ScaleMatrix announced on Wednesday it has expanded its data center footprint by opening its second data center in San Diego.

The new data center will meet the demand for ScaleMatrix’s cloud hosting services. The cloud hosting company has grown significantly in the past year, and with the recent launch of ScaleMatrix’s channel partner program it is positioned to grow even further as the company moves into markets it did not have access to before.

The growth also signals the continued demand for cloud hosting services in the Southern California market.

ScaleMatrix’s new data center is the recently required facility which spans 46,000 square feet of space within its existing Kearny Mesa campus.

This new data center nearly doubles the San Diego footprint for the company. ScaleMatrix opened a 50,000 square foot San Diego data center last April, which grew rapidly during the first year of operation. The cloud hosting company also has a data center in Katy, Texas.

With density capabilities and high security offering comprised of armed guards and biometrically secured colocation cabinets, ScaleMatrix has attracted customers from variou industries including finance, healthcare, and gaming.

“Our selection of this campus location was strategic in nature,” said Chris Orlando, chief sales and marketing officer at ScaleMatrix, “with considerable room for expansion and access to ample power resources; we can easily grow and expand based on the demands of our clients. Our long term plans call for a number of expansions over the next few years; we’ve simply accelerated the timeline based on the market response we have received.”

With a total of 96,000 square feet under management, ScaleMatrix provides clients with colocation, managed services, and private cloud hosting solutions. This expansion ensures an ample supply of data center space for the Southern California market.

ScaleMatrix takes an infrastructure-based approach to providing best-in-class hosting solutions to clients at every stage of their IT Lifecycle development.

By investing heavily in both facilities and personnel, and developing strategic relationships with critical hardware, software, and support service vendors – we are able to offer our clients industry leading solutions which include design, deployment, and ongoing management as part of our standard offering.

ScaleMatrix extended its existing partnership with CA Technologies earlier this month to distribute and support CA ARCserve products in North America under its own brand.
